Prosper has changed so much in the time period from 2006 to 2009, it's difficult to draw any conclusions from the default rates.Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2211186543498959369.post-32293421105325811422011-05-19T19:46:30.878-07:002011-05-19T19:46:30.878-07:00ThanskThanskMariahttps://www.blogger.com/profile/15948115149015814935noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2211186543498959369.post-34652723917241854862011-05-09T12:04:41.788-07:002011-05-09T12:04:41.788-07:00I joined Prosper as a lender and learned a painful...I joined Prosper as a lender and learned a painful lesson. Some people, borrowers, saw a huge opportunity to get free money with no way of getting caught for stealing. Out of 65 loans so far 29 totaling 983.41 dollars in write offs and apparently no one to track down these dead beats. Thank God I will see the end of this night mare with my monatary loss of 380.00 dollars.thomashttps://www.blogger.com/profile/03953413782402284549noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2211186543498959369.post-64476690806400957012011-03-12T10:02:48.889-08:002011-03-12T10:02:48.889-08:00I looked at the new auditor's web site. (shows up on the bidding screen and as part of the "lenders estimated return" figure on the listing) This is related but different from the estimated gain/loss on a portfolio plan.

I ask for two reasons. First, I built my portfolio entirely based on that figure. Second, I've noticed many of the "featured borrowers" of late have negative expected returns, even at the starting interest rate, which is somewhat amusing, until you realize that people continue to bid on those loans.

Thanks,

-aMaximillian Boiihttps://www.blogger.com/profile/09712157905126165888noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2211186543498959369.post-16285103037561774152010-03-31T20:30:42.839-07:002010-03-31T20:30:42.839-07:00Interesting, I don't really see the purpose of...Interesting, I don't really see the purpose of closing loans by the end of the month.
